Poster Contest

Linking art and creative thinking with science, the annual poster contest provides K - 12 grade students the opportunity to develop and share their thoughts and ideas about natural resource issues.  Students should also be encouraged to use the poster to creatively express his/her ideas on how conservation improves the environment.  Teachers, this is the perfect opportunity to instill in your students an appreciation for the environment and an awareness of the need to protect our water resources.

Posters are judged by grade level bands: K-1, 2-3, 4-6, 7-9, and 10-12.  Judging is based on the following evaluation criteria: 50% on the conservation message, 30% on visual effectiveness, 10% on originality, and 10% on universal appeal.  First and second place posters in each grade band level will be forwarded onto a regional contest, and winners from that contest have the opportunity to be judged at both state and federal levels.

The poster contest will not be held in 2009.
Instead we will be hosting a Photography Contest in the Fall of 2009.
Please check back for details.
