Cuyahoga Soil & Water Conservation District and the Cuyahoga County Solid Waste District are hosting a Rain Barrel Workshop and Compost Seminar with the City of Beachwood and Friends of Euclid Creek on Wednesday, May 25th from 6:30-8:30pm at the Beachwood Community Center (25325 Fairmount Blvd., 44122).
A rain barrel is a container used to collect and store rainwater that would otherwise be lost to runoff and likely diverted to a storm drain. Collected water may then be used to water lawns and gardens. The cost is $60 (Friends of Euclid Creek members receive a $10 discount) and includes the barrel, all materials and the downspout diverter.
Composting is a great way to keep organic materials out of landfills and an inexpensive way of adding nutrients back into your soil.
