Addressing Urban Watersheds - NACD July U&C Webinar

When: July 21 from 12:00pm - 1:00pm

We all depend on water! Protecting and enhancing its quality is a critical responsibility across all lands, one performed in many ways.

Join us for the next monthly NACD Urban and Community Conservation Webinar, titled ‘Addressing Urban Watersheds’, on July 21 at 12:00noon-1:00pm Eastern time.

The Cuyahoga SWCD in Ohio will highlight efforts in two watersheds, one large and one small, about how urban water quality initiatives are being tackled. Presenters will discuss satisfying MS4 requirements, funding for water quality initiatives, successfully completed projects such as the $1.3 million stream and wetland restoration, and more. Presenters: Claire Posius, Euclid Creek Watershed Coordinator and Jared Bartley, Rocky River Watershed Coordinator.

The Paque Dona Ines of the Louis Munoz Marin Foundation in Puerto Rico will feature a restoration project that involved trash and debris collection, run off management, organic matter incorporation into soil, and reforestation with native species. This was accomplished through a partnership with municipal, state, federal and local nongovernment organizations.

These popular events, held on the third Thursday of each month, are sponsored by The Scotts Miracle-Gro Company in partnership with the NACD Urban and Community Resource Policy Group.

There is no cost to participate, but space is limited. Registration will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis. To register, email Debra Bogar at deb-bogar@nacdnet.org WITH your name, title, district or business name, state and email address. Information to access the webinar will be sent by email.
