GRAFTING WORKSHOP

GRAFTING WORKSHOP

When: May 25 from 11:00am - 1:00pm
Where: Cuyahoga Soil & Water Conservation District, 3311 Perkins Ave, Suite 100 Cleveland, Ohio 44114 map this

In this workshop, we will be using Asimina triloba, aka the Pawpaw, to teach the ancient skill of fruit tree grafting. Pawpaw is a great tree to learn grafting because of its softer wood.

At this workshop, participants will graft two of their own Pawpaw trees, using a readily available grafting tool. We will also discuss other tools of the grafting trade and necessary after care.

At the end of the workshop, participants will go home with three Pawpaw trees. Two trees will be grafted cultivars. One tree will be a seedling. At this point, we know one of the grafted cultivars will be "Sunflower," which Kentucky State University will be generously supplying.

Please be aware that we cannot guarantee that all grafts will be 100% successful.
