Cuyahoga SWCD provides annual sponsorships (see attached application) for students to attend Camp Canopy. Sponsorships are awarded to Cuyahoga County high school students who are sincerely interested in conservation issues and enjoy a good walk in the woods. It is a unique experience that will expose students to the great outdoors and to possible careers in forestry, conservation and natural resource protection.

Students must attend school in Cuyahoga County. Sponsorships are open to incoming freshmen through graduating seniors (up to 19 years of age).

Camp Canopy is a week long resident camp held each year in June at Camp Muskingum in Carroll County. The camp is about a 1.5 hour drive from Cleveland, east of Tuscarawas County. Camp Canopy concentrates on forest ecology including silviculture, tree identification, and forestry products. It is primarily an academic program, but there are excellent facilities for swimming, softball, and other recreational activities.

We need your help!

We are so proud to be able to offer sponsorships for Camp Canopy! For each camper, it costs $375 for a full week at this amazing camp. If you'd like to make a donation to our Camp Canopy Sponsorship Fund, click here to donate. Every amount helps! Thank you.
