The woodlands of this parcel, in general, are of impressive quality for the Euclid Creek watershed. The forest is mostly native trees of good size and tolerant of wet conditions, primarily comprised of red maple, black cherry, ash (several spp.), and slippery elm, with a smattering of other species which includes, but is not limited to, white pine, various oak, as well as dogwood in the understory. The forest is not fully mature, as it served as farmland back in the 1930-40s. The site clearly sustains moderate to moderately heavy deer browse, but does have a surprisingly limited quantity of non-native species (especially given the urban context). The streams and wetland complexes onsite are contiguous with this forest community, as well as ecologic communities on adjacent parcels of Highland Heights Community Park.
