School Program – Enviroscape Model
WHAT IS THE ENVIROSCAPE MODEL
This model is a great hands-on way to introduce your students to how watersheds work. Students can help set up different sections of the Enviroscape model and test their theories of how water will move through a watershed. This model can also be used for demonstrating how the water quality changes from erosion and pollution runoff.
This model is available as a single presentation from a Cuyahoga SWCD educator or can be rented and used by a trained educator. A $25 refundable deposit is required for rental.
The Envirocape Model can be used with students at many different grade levels, but fits best with 3rd and 7th grade science curriculum as it aligns with the following Ohio State Science Standards:
3.ESS.3: Some of Earth’s resources are limited (pollution)
7.ESS.1: The hydrologic cycle illustrates the changing states of water as it moves through the lithosphere, biosphere, hydrosphere, and atmosphere.
