School Program – ODNR Wildlife Traveling Trunk

WHAT IS THE ODNR WILDLIFE TRAVELING TRUNK?

If your students are interested in learning more about wildlife that call Ohio home, this kit is for you! The Wilderness Traveling Trunk, property of the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, includes pelts, animal skulls and activities to help your students better understand the unique wildlife that lives amongst us here in Ohio.

This kit is only available for rent. Since this kit is sponsored by ODNR, no deposit is required for rental.

The ODNR Wildlife Traveling Trunk can be used with students at many different grade levels, but fits best with 5th and 7th grade science curriculum as it aligns with the following Ohio State Science Standards:

5.LS.2: All of the processes that take place within organisms require energy. (food web interactions, predator-prey)

7.LS.2: In any particular biome, the number, growth and survival of organisms and populations depend on biotic and abiotic factors. (limiting factors for wildlife)
